HOMEWORK

PLEASE NOTE:

Reading is ongoing and children should read every evening if possible. Please remember, year 5/6 children are not too old to share a book with you!

All maths at this level is heavily dependant on number facts like tables and number bonds. It is important children get regular practise to improve their speed and accuracy. Maths homework goes out around Thursday and is expected back in on Monday.

Spelling homework tasks go out on Monday and are expected back for marking on Thursday. There will be a test on the following Monday.

Learning Logs

Learning Logs are our new style of homework.  To help develop 'creativity' we will be using 'Learning Logs' to provide children with a chance to take ownership of some of their learning and to promote independence.

A 'Learning Log' is a special book which will be given to each child to last them throughout the academic year.  In this book they will complete pieces of homework on different areas of the curriculum.  Each fortnight children will be set a task and they will have to demonstrate their understanding of the subject in their book.  Tasks will usually be related to areas previously covered in school, although independent research may be given.

Please ensure you read the sheet inside the learning logs which gives fuller details.
