Curricular targets 2008-9

Reading Target:

In Key Stage One we aim to develop our children’s ability to use their phonic knowledge to help decode unknown words. In Key Stage Two, we also aim to build upon the children's phonic skills as well as helping them to extract information and develop their skills of inference and deduction.

Writing Target:

This year. we are looking to improve standards in writing especially in sustained writing. We aim to personalise children's writing targets using key sentence and punctuation targets.

Numeracy Target:

We aim to develop our children’s ability to calculate by encouraging and reinforcing the use of number lines. We also are introducing the use of numicon in KS1 and in KS2 as an intervention support.
